Kigali Kids Project
An education initiative to improve learning
opportunities for the children of Rwanda

Education is the key to unlock the future of a generation of Rwandan orphans.  In 1994 close to one million people were killed in the Rwandan genocide, leaving many children without parents.  The future for the youth of Rwanda is based on their ability to receive a quality education – including vocational training.

In 2008 a shipping container will leave the Crisis Response International in Kansas City filled with educational supplies for the preschool, primary, and vocational schools in Samuduha, Kigali, Rwanda.  The container will be filled with both donated and financed items, and collections are taking place throughout the Midwest.

The long-term vision is to enable the graduates of the vocational school to open their own businesses through assistance with development of business plans, ongoing business training, and microfinance lending.

We welcome businesses, civic groups, and churches to consider sponsoring a portion of the school or a specific vocational training classroom.  To discuss sponsorship options including name recognition and international publicity, contact the Chair of the Kigali Kids Project, Kim Seidl.
